Read this one years ago in a hunting magazine.
Seems this fella shot himself a deer. Walked up, leaned his rifle against a tree, and got ready to field dress it.
Pulls out his knife, grabs the deer by the tail, and sticks the knife in the deer's butt to start the cut around the anus.
Well, the deer wasn't quite dead enough to put up with that, jumps up, and hauls butt through the woods. The problem came about because the fella still had ahold of the deer's tail and in all the excitement forgot to let go.
The deer pulled him through the woods and into a field. About halfway across the field the deer up and died. This time for real.
The fella who shot the deer was just standing there, still holding his knife, trying to catch his breath.
Another hunter who had been standing on the edge of the field walked over. Before he could say anything the first fella says, "I'm getting too old for this crap. I gotta get me a gun!"
