I just made a silencer for my .22. i took a 20 oz pepsi bottle and cut a slot in the top for the aimer then i slid it over the barrel and taped it on there. then i took a 2liter pepsi bottle and cut the top out so it would slide over the 20 oz and filed that 2 liter with paper i had ripped up. then i taped it around the 20 oz. then i took another 2liter and cut the top off and put a slit down the side and filled it with paper as well and taped it around the first 2liter. i went and shot it and it sounds about like a pellet rifle. would probably make a nice set up if you wanted to hunt the same spot with out scare anything off, but you would need a scope because the front sight is completely covered if u do it.

oh so it is illegal? i didnt know i was just messing around with it i got bored

and i figured i would see if a plain old 2 liter would work and it did but very little so i kept messing with it till i got it super quiet

One of the best I've seen is to get a piece of 1 inch aluminum, affix it to the barrel with 3m 5200 adhesive calk(easily removed). Leave about 4 inches protruding beyond the end of the barrel. Go to lowes and buy a couple dozen felt washers with the smallest hole in the center you can find or around 3/16 inch. stack them in the tube until full. Take a wooden screw plug big enough to wedge into the end of the tube, drill a hole in it slightly larger than the hole in the felt, insert into the end of the tube compressing the felt plugs. The end result is as quite as they come.
