One of my hunting buddies caught several hundred sea mullets last week on the pier during the big moon. They filled several coolers one night.

I fish for a living. I spend a lot of time offshore fishing for mahi, tuna, wahoo, etc. and sea mullets are still one of my favorite fish.

I can go with that. Nothing in the world like mullets. We fish the inland waterway for roe mullets, there is nothing that makes me happier than running 400 yards around a wad of mullets, and watching that net light up. Lol...downside is picking them out of the net...but the money makes it better. In recent years, though...the money has been short on mullet.

I like the 'Hard Heads" or October mullet too in the fall but I prefer the milder "Sea or Virginia Mullet". The Sea mullet is just a member of the Drum family and one that weighs about 2 lbs pulls like a drum too on a light surf rod.
