That stinks. I probably wouldn't shoot to many guns in the area I am hunting, unless I was shooting at deer or other game available. Just a thought. Deer are smart, they will become even more skittish if they start hearing gunshots popping off all around them. Especially around eastern NC, it isn't like up north where the deer move around a lot. Down here it does seem like they are more nocturnal than up north. Just my .02 cents worth. Thanks for the story though and I hope you get the guy that tore that tree up.

well i sat in a stand the other evening and never seen a deer, left out going home and damn near run over a monster on the highway with my truck!just after dark,i seen him coming up out of the ditch, hit the high beams, stood on the brakes and just did miss him by about half a truck lenghth[and i was in the other lane as i was skidding by!good thing there was nobody behind me!]anyway he had 5 on his right side, not sure about the left but there was at least 4,he was a big 9 or possibly a 10pointer!and when he was hitting the ditch on the right side,i was looking as i skidded by and his horns were out past his ears!dang that was a big ole buck!big body deer too,i am so glad i didn't hit him with my truck and maybe someone will be fortunate enough to take him this winter.he's definetly worthy of the wall!
