I've seen less coyotes the past 6 months compared to last year. Anyone else have any sightings?

How is the deer population in your area? In Pitt County they are saying that we lost 33% to hemorrhagic fever in 2011 in some areas and up to 50% in other areas of the county. Don't know about the coyote populations in Pitt Co., but it stands to reason to me that if we have fewer deer the coyotes will move on.

The deer population is way down in onslow, eastern Duplin, and western Pender counties. The coyotes are not and have not been the problem. Orange caps up and down the highway, logging, and new home construction are the culprits IMO.

I don't think it's the coyotes that have caused the huge drop in populations, although they may have contributed some, but I think what's really killing them is disease.
