Is there anybody in the Jacksonville area that does parkerizing or spray on finishes (duracoat, molyresin etc.)? I have several AK builds and other firearms that I need refinished. I have considered setting everything up to do it myself but find myself lacking the time to do so.

I do not personally know of anyone, but Lauer Weaponry at http://www.lauerweaponry.com/ are the people who sell and I gather make Dura Coat. I know that Brownells sells a different type version, like Ceramic coat stuff. Lauer Weaponry does have a certified refinishers listing and I think there is someone in the eastern NC or Piedmont region who does it. BUT if I was you...I might just go down to the Haws Run area and check with Rick Miller. I dunno what he might do for you or can have done for you, but he has blued a couple for me in the past.

I talked to Rick a while back and he does blueing. I know where to get the supplies to do refinishing and have a good bit of it already. I just don't have time to set everything up and was hoping to pay someone or something.

The Manager of the Aamco transmission behind the KFC over off of Western does Parkerizing. He came into my work trying to match some wood for a repair on a 1890 shotgun he was restoring. Got to talking and found out that he does parkerizing. He said just stop by and see him at the transmission shop.

I have used moly resin and dura coat for years. I can show you some of my rifles that I have done. If you like the work, then we can work something out about getting yours refinished. let me know if interested
