I just bought a new rimfire scope for my .22 Westernfield. It's a 3X9 Centerfire with illuminated an illuminated recticle, I bought from Walmart for 58.00. I sighted it in at 50 yards and get nice groupings. It's a nice scope for the money. Anyway, I was thinking about getting another one for my .22 mag, but I've heard that you can't, or shouldn't, sight a rimfire scope at 100 yard, because something called parrallax will screw up your sight picture or somthing. Anyhow as you can tell, I don't know what I'm talking about, so can somebody set me straight here? Should I get a scope designed for a centerfire rifle for the .22 mag or just use the rimfire designed scope and sight it in at 50 yards, or sight the rimfire designed scope in at 100 yards anyway. By the way, my .22 mag is a lever action Marlin. I'd hate to put a 300.00 scope on a 150.00 rifle, plus with the economy and all, I'm on a tight budget. The only scope I've got any previous experience with is the one that was on my beanfield rifle when I bought it and so I'm not really knowledgable on scopes. Thanks
