Looks nice. Those old Milsur rifles are fun to shoot.

They sure are. I have yet to shoot it. I hate paying $15 dollars to go to Flatwoods and I don't like being treated like a little kid. Since we can't shoot on gamelands. I am not sure were else to go. Do you know of anywhere else to shoot?

I've started to collect Mosins, 91/30, m44, m38, m91/59, and a m39 Finn. I used to go to a range in havelock, but he would change his hours on a whim. Not opening, late opening, etc, but there wasnt any range officers with drill seregant mentailty there. I thought I was the only one who felt that way at Flatwoods.

Yeah this is a Mosin Nagant M91/30 1932 Hex Reciever Tula Manuf.
Yeah I hate that mentality, I mean I guess I can kinda understand it but then I am an Adult not a child so I don't get it either.

It's funny that you bring that up. One of those guys is, in fact, a retired DI and he still acts like it. I don't go there anymore but when I did I would call ahead of time and ask who was running the range that day and if 'he' was running it then I wouldn't go.

Yeah it is terrible. It isn't even that bad on the rifle range for the Marine Corps. I wish it was like the one back home that doesn't have any range officers, you pay a $35 yearly dues charge and you can shoot all day, every day, 365 days a year.

I was thinking about getting one of those. The price is right on alot them, but how available is the ammo? I was looking at an old turkish mauser up at Mackey's a couple of weeks ago and I think they have some Mosin's there too. I used to have an old Mauser years ago and sold it.

Ammo is readily available online. You can get 440 rounds for around 80 bucks plus shipping.

I picked up a Mosin several years ago from Roses when they still sold guns. That rifle looked rough and must have had a quart of grease in the wood. I scrubbed it down and took it to Flatwoods for a little distance shooting. At their back berm someone had put a milk jug. I could bounce that jug all over every time. I gave it away to a friend in need of a hunting rifle the next year.

For those that shoot and put the weapon away to clean tomorrow or the next day or the next or the next.... do not do this with the Milsurplus ammo on the Nagants. Yes the ammo is cheap and readily available, but it is also highly corrosive so do your barrel a favor and do not let sit after a day of shooting. I have had a couple of buds who treated their 100.00 weapons as 100.00 weapons, and were much more wiser after the fact.
