Here is a pic of my new rifle. It is a Remington 700 SPS-V in .308Win. I put it in a McMillan A4 Stock built to USMC Spec. Let me know what you all think. I have not shot it yet though!

I have not decided yet on whether I want to paint it or not. I like some of the pics I've seen from folks who have painted theirs. I believe the cost is around $1400. The stock was the most expensive, but the feel of it is just awesome. It is a rock solid stock. I still need to buy a decent scope for it. I am looking around for a good deal. Then down the road, I want to send it to GA Precision to have it re barreled and the action trued.

if you haven't already check out snipers hide for scope ideas and places to shop. Also some awesome paint jobs there. Just a few weeks ago I painted my .30-06, I'm happy with the way it turned out
Good Rifle & Good Looking Rifle, time to shoot.

Have you shot yet? What were the groups like?

Yeah i shot it, groups were pretty decent. I'm not used to the trigger yet. It is really light. X-Mark Pro. Groups were right around an 1 inch at 100 yards, not bad for the first time. It should shrink when I get a nice scope for it.

Gorgeous...So where'd ya get the McMillan A-4 from? Was it a drop-in or did you have someone do some work toget it to fit properly?

I got it from JW Precision. It was a drop it. John, is a class act guy. Very good to deal with. I recommend him. It was great. The only thing I had to do was take a dremel to the trigger area, due to the xmark Pro trigger. The housing area was designed for the original, pre-xmark trigger design. Easy 5 minutes of work. Love the feel.
The New SPS Lines that Remington came with are great rifles and very accurate.

I hope you get her dialed in. If you ever wanna go shoot, hit me up, I'm always looking for new people that enjoy distance shooting, that want to actually go to the range.

Alien,
Did you know that you can shoot at Stone Bay on the weekends? It has to be .223 or .30 Cal, but you can shoot the KD Course or the match course. You pay 20 bucks plus another 5 for the Corpsman and you can shoot there.

Super nice rifle. What kind of glass are you using on it?

Does the PX at the range still sell sniper T shirts?
I haven't been down there in a bunch of years.

The one on Happypupys looks like Leupold Mk 4 M1 knobs. Great glass! Love them...but lookikng at Nightforce myself. Just hard to spend that kinda money when its a LOT more than the rig.
I've heard rumblings bout the Stone Bay thing. I hope it is true. If it is? Please someone let us know all the details. I know they used to shoot NRA matches there back in the 90's...would sure love to see that start again. I've looked at things and the closest Long Range shooting is at Camp Butner near Raliegh for F Class matches. I know that Quantico has ranges on the weekends...but this is not distance driving, but distance shooting. LOL!
And I like yall really, REALLy want a McMillan Stock...but 500 to 700 for the stock is a bit much when my HS stock is working perfectly...plus I have a F Class Hart barrel on my rifle and is rather thick in diameter and would prolly need some custom f itting. Add into it the $1500 plus for glass? And I cannot remember anyplace around here I've needed to shoot more than 300 yards tops. If I pushed it.
But still love both Aliens rig and Happypupys.

Damn, does no one read the previous posts? I will talk to a friend of mine who shoots the course and get details and post it separately so everyone can see it.

I just ordered a new scope. I think I found a dandy of a deal. I just bought a Konus Pro M30 4.5-16x40 scope. It has an illuminated blue mil-dot reticle It is a fine scope for the price of $259 that I paid. It is a 30mm tube not as 1 in tube. Should be awesome.

How's that thing shoot?

It shoots great, I still have to sight in the new scope but it shot great with the cheapo scope it came with. I got the 30mm scope on it now, just have to sight her in. She's a heavy rifle though, probably between 12-15 pounds. Definitely not your stalking in the woods or open plains rifle but it would be fine in a box stand on ground blind. The rifle would handle the open fields well but carrying it would not be fun.
