I just started reloading and fell in love with it before I seated my first bullet. I just put together 50 .300 Whisper loads in the garage and all started good, but about half way through the powder started clinging to the funnel. I quit using the funnel and carefully used the pan on the scale to charge the brass. Then I noticed it started sticking to the hopper on the powder measure. I cleaned everything as directed twice yesterday and ensured everything was dry before I started tonight. I am using a Hornady Lock-N-Load measure with H110 and a RCBS quick change funnel. Once I finished, I poured the remaining powder back into the jug and the whole hopper and down inside of the measure had powder sticking to it. As I poured, you could see the grains jumping to the walls. A couple taps and most of the grains would fall out, but not all. It looks like somehow the equipment built up some static, but I don't know how. Any ideas on how this happened or how to prevent it, would be greatly appreciated.

Has to do with the temp and humidity. Unless your garage is climate controlled, it is not a good place to load. Before you start again, wipe your powder hopper and equipment down with a dryer sheet. Typically, the humidity is very low if static is a problem. If you have a small propane heater or any carbon fuel heater that will raise the humidity, it will help. This won't be a problem on a warm day.

Thanks for the info Doghunter. I seen before that a climate controlled area is the best place to reload, but don't really have room in the house. In the chat room for awhile last night with Mustang and he told me the same thing. He seems like a real good guy. Again thanks for the help.

I have used a dryer sheet as well. Works great.

On a new power hopper its a good idea to run a whole hopper through to "season" the tube. I know it sounds funny but it works. More accurate first loads and little sticking.
