I just bought my Sportsmans' license for the year and all my deer and game tags expire 6/10. Why is that? Do I have to buy them all over again in the Fall?

yep! spring turkey season is pretty much the end of the huntin for the year so the tags run out after that and it all starts over again.does the license expire in june or just the tags?

Any license agent should be able to give you New tags after yours expire. I can't remember if they charge anything, A few bucks maybe? I use to have to do that myself. I finally got on a schedule of buying my license July. Makes it simpler.

There is no charge for replacement big game tags. Your license is good for one year from date of purchase. Any tags used will not be replaced of course but the WRC will send you free big game tags good for any portion of big game season up till the license expiration date..

20 years ago the license year was from July to July vice Jan to Jan in many other states. Many people came into the state wanting to buy licenses, but if they came in March to hunt or fish their license was only good for a few months. I can't remember the year, but its prolly been 10 or so years ago this was changed to whatever month you buy the license to whatever month you bought the license...except for what you found. To negate the hassle most people I know, including me just continue to buy the thing the first week or two in July. It points to the upcoming season.

Got my lifetime hunting license and they send new tags in the mail every year. It's a big hunk of money at one time, but it really pays for itself, especially when you consider that licenses get more expensive every year and the gooberment keeps regulating more activities (recent example: saltwater fishing)which means you have to shell out even more money for licenses every year.

Me and my wife both got lifetime licenses for Christmas from my parents a few years ago just days before the saltwater license went into effect. Best gift I have ever been given.

When I was growing up in UT. the license went Jan. 1 to Dec 31. The state wildlife fund would make a killing, people would run out and buy the license for deer season, in October-ish, then have to buy one Jan 1 to cover rabbit, etc.
