Tommy,

The hogs are pretty slim around here. They are not widespread and the areas that have them are limited by local hunters to the access. Several folks hunt them with dogs and are protective of their hunting territory. The Croatan has a few but they are not easily accessible. They tend to be in the swamp but you have to traverse some thick bay to access the swamp!

Tommy,
If you don't mind the drive, there's a guy I know over by Smithfield. He has a spreed with some good sized hogs. He charges $50.00 to hunt, and another $50.00 if you shoot anything. Drop me a line if your interested and I'll put you in touch.

True hogs are few here. Feral pigs, due to the hog farms are more prevalent. Not a lot more, just more. Duplin County, Carteret and Jones county have feral pigs, some in the Croatan, but as the man said, they are hard to find, unless you are in the know, or you spend oodles of time crawling through the Croatan. Beulaville area has some, but most of that area where the pig farms are, are either the farms themselves or private lands, and the folks out there keep it like a full house A over K's on the chest. Very tight knit group.
