You guys see where Phil Harris the Captain of the Cornelia Marie on Discovery Channel's Deadliest Catch died? He had a stroke a while back and never got fully recovered before his death yesterday.

Real sad to see him go. Looks like he only dodged that bullet for a short while. Way too young. He'll be missed.

Bummer to dodge Mr. Death in one of the most dangerous fishing operations in the world....only to have a stroke. I only watched the show a few times, but seemed like a good Captain.

Yeah, catt. I was referencing to an episode, maybe a couple of years ago, where he actually got medi-vac'd off the boat with a heart problem, spent some time in the hospital and ended his season, but he was back the next year... (still smoking like a chimney and obviously NOT taking care of himself.) Still; he'll be missed.

he had actually passed a blood clot thru his heart!thought he was having a heart attack, got him off the boat,to the hospital and the doctors said he should have been dead from it but somehow or other he managed to survive it.

That's the one I was thinking of , Buck. He had his "Lucky Day" that day! Too bad it didn't last longer.

yep he went thru all that and in all his worries, with the boat and his health, he had to walk outside in his hospital gown and have a smoke!

Kinda laughable and so sad at the same time! No denying how bad he had that addiction!

Yes, no doubt he lived a hard life dealing with the stress of running that boat in those waters. He has two sons in the business so I am sure it will not be long before they take over. They definately have a tough seat to fill.
