Do you bait coyotes?
If so, what do you use and how do you place the bait?
I'm thinking of using road kills

You bet! Here's what a deer carcass will do for you!

When I shoot a coyote, can I leave it for coyote bait or will they shun their own?
Thanks

I really don't know about that. I have never done that. I do know that a coyote will eat small dogs and foxes and suppose they would eat their own if they were hungry enough. I just laid that animal beside the deer he was eating on when I shot him just to take the picture. It could have an adverse effect like a scare crow???

I realize this is an old post but...I thought I would put in my two cents. I have known several ranchers who would swear by hanging a coyote carcass over a fence post to keep other coyotes from coming around. I don't know if this technique is effective or not, but I know people who use it.
