What do you all think about hunting yotes in our area with all the heavy brush? There isn't a whole lot of places that provide wide open shots it seems. Any recommendations to assist in success around here? I don't know any farmers yet but I will be going around asking pretty soon. If anything pans out I will let you guys know.

I've hunted places around here that have offered <50 yard shot and in cases like that I was wishing I had my shotgun (dead coyote choke tube, dead coyote T shot). Otherwise, I'm using my bolt gun.

A couple of years ago, I asked Mr. Waters what kind of shot to use outside the deer season. He specified that I should use nothing larger than #2 shot. He did not mean #2 buck. Let's not get confused.... Be advised that the T shot is larger than #2 shot. In short, he is trying to avoid anyone creating an impression that they are carrying a load that might be capable of bringing down a deer. I purchased some #2 heavishot at that time and patterned in an 11-87 with a Remchoke made for heavishot and the patterns were dense enough to do the job.
I would be nice to have access to some of the ranges where shots present at several hundred yards. I don't see that happening...
This, of course is for hunting on MCB, Camp Lejeune, only.

What size chamber does it have, I know some 1100's have only 2 3/4 chambers. It would also depend on the time of year. If it has 3" chambers than I would use Dead Coyote with T shot and a Dead Coyote choke tube. If you can only use 2 3/4 shells than I would use #4 Buck during big game season. If not I guess I would find a heavy turkey load. I haven't seen any Dead Coyote in 2 3/4 shells. Hope this helps.

Heck yes. Plenty of power for yotes. My buddy killed a deer with it one year. He didn't want to take the shot with it, because he wasn't sure if it had the power but it sure did! It ran about 50 yards and just slowed down to a stop and fell over. It was sweet.

How much difference does a extra full choke make or one of those dead coyote chokes? The reason I am asking I bought an H&R Partner Pump last year at Dicks. (It came with a modified choke for steel shot from the factory.) Anyway I came across a full choke tube in a box of gun stuff I had packed away years ago. The full choke holds a heck of a pattern as is and I have bounced a milk jug around using 3" #4 buck shot at 70+ yds. So just what can I expect out of another extra full choke?

A game warden I know uses his turkey setup and blows them away. Go for it. I plan on using my ultra full choke and my muzzleloader.
