Didn't want to spend alot and then find out electronic calls weren't my thing. On the advice of Doghunter I used parts available from Radio Shack. However, the only extension speaker RS had at three separate stores (Beulaville and Jacksonville) was a 12V powered amplified extension speaker. At two of the stores there was a 'bullhorn' style speaker that wasn't amplified, but feared the power drain on the Min-Amp and little 9V battery in the Mini-Amp would not be enuff to power this speaker. Does anyone have any suggestions or has used something different? I thought about ordering one, but wasn't sure if anyone else has used something different or had some suggestions on how to power an amplified speaker.

Second, will this little 9V battery operated Mini-Amp have any life to it or does it get drained rather fast?

The mini-amp will last several hours on 1 battery if used with the 8 ohm pa speaker. you don't need a powered speaker. However, if you get one, go with a jell cell lead acid battery and power the speaker and the mini amp with the same battery.

Renegade,

Did you ever get your call put together?

Not yet. Gotta get to RS and find a speaker. But I did cable it together, downloaded some of the calls and listened through ear phones. Know it will sound great when I do get the speaker on it.

WOW! Got it together and it sounds great! I used a 'bullhorn' style speaker from RS that cost $26.00. My dogs went crazy! LOL! So wonder how it will sound? Won't get it out for awhile coz it's turkey season and don't want to draw attention to what is in the neighborhood. Thanks Doghunter! Great set of instructions for a basic electronic call using any MP3 player and minimal costs!
