I may be setting myself up for some greenhorn ridicule, but I am wanting to start Coyote/bobcat hunting and have a few questions:
I know bullet type and placement are key, but beyond that is a .22 mag sufficient to cleanly take coyote and bobcat.
beyond having a nice hide or pelt is there any other use for the critters.
What do you do with the carcass once your finished with it.
Again, some of these may sound like stupid questions, but I am a novice and the TV shows and what I've seen so far on the internet don't say anything about what to do with it after the hunt.
You guys really seem to know what your talking about on here and I welcome any input you might have. Please don't rag me too bad. http://nchuntandfish.com/forums/images/smilies/wink.gifhttp://nchuntandfish.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif

nope. no greenhorn, newbie stuff here with these folks. They'll help ya out...guide you, tips and tricks. good info here, good fellowship. remember, the only dumb question, is the one you don't ask.
Not a predator hunter by trade, but I can answer a little....
.22 mag is sufficient to start in. You may want to look at some hot centerfire stuff as you progress.
Hides and pelts are nice, but, not much good eats for bobs and yotes...it's more of a "predator control factor" than filling the freezer.
Bury the carcass. or find a spot on your hunting area, (not on public lands) and give the carcass to the buzzards and the worms and such, they need to eat too. If you're taking it to the taxidermist, he'll take care of the carcass.

Welcome to the forum. It is a great place. .22Mag should be good to start with, just keep your shots closer in range wise. Don;t be afrain to ask around here. Enjoy the chat box as well!

Like the others say the 22 mag is really light....Move up when you can... I'm a junior member here but I've been hunting coyotes, fox, bobcats and prairie dogs for the past 50 years, and I still love it just as much or maybe more.
Like manxxcatt says just leave the caucus in the field for others to feed on. You can skin them out and tack the skins on the barn or shed and with a little salt they dry out ok
stay safe and good hunting
