As a rule,
Man is a fool.
When it's hot,
He wants it cool.
When it's cool,
He wants it hot,
Always wanting what is not.
So we can see
That as a rule,
Man is sure to be a fool!

My granddaddy used to quote this all the time when I was a kid! I guess this applies to us all, especially about the weather. The past 2 years, we were all complaining about the drought and were wanting it to rain. This year, we have had over 54 inches of rain in Onslow County, most of it since the late summer. In the long run, all of this rain will benefit the water table, flush most of the stagnant, mosquito ridden water out of the creeks, and help the farmers out next spring with reserve moisture in the soil. In the short term, it makes for a big mess! Sooner or later, the rain and cold are going to get here at the same time and the rain will be white!

The rain is a gift though I have a hard time when there are too many days with no sunshine. As far as snow goes, it's pretty on postcards. LOL

I love snow! I would rather have snow than rain, at least in the winter!

I love hunting in the rain, but I guess I'm particular; (as in EVERYTHING...) I only like a drizzle, NOT so much some of the stuff I've sat through this year!

Going out on the 4 wheeler today (after last nights pounding...) I couldn't avoid dunking the pegs in a few places. First day for that!

Doghunter's Grandfather had it right, I think!
