are the furs of these predators worth $$$? it would be cool if they could finance their own demise. lol

They aren't worth much. Last month in Arizona you could get $5 for a fleshed, stretched and dried coyote hide. That's a good deal of work for just a few bucks but then again some like it as a hobby.
I'm not sure what they are worth here in NC but I can't imagine they would be worth much more.
Back in the late 70's early 80's my old man was supporting our family by hunting predators when the oil business took a dive. He was getting $35 for an unskinned coyote ($50 for a skinned) and $350-400 for a bobcat hide.
If that wasn't incentive to get out and hunt I don't know what is!!

Not much market here. The fur industry was nearly destroyed back in the late 80's, by all the do-gooders, spray painting and harrassing people over fur coats, hats, etc. That I know of, there is only one or 2 fur-buyers in NC, and very limited due to the inability to resell to the larger furriers. Way back when, there were lots of buyers, and the money was not bad. A good raccoon would fetch as much as $25 apiece, unskinned.
