Two police agencies in North Carolina plan to pay anonymous tipsters for information about illegal firearms
The News & Observer of Raleigh reporta that Paleigh's police chief and Wake County sheriff said Friday they will offer money in exchange for tips about stolen guns,unregistered firearms or weapons with serial numbers scratched off
if an anonymous tip leads to an arrest,the tipster will receive up to $200.
Officials say the goal is to reduce gun violemce in Raleigh. In 2008 the state's capital city saw a record 32 homicides and more then 1.000 robberies
